Career Fairs

NCEC Career Exploration Fairs

NCEC holds two career exploration fairs each year–one in the fall for high school students, and one in the spring for upper middle school students.

The educational goals of these events are:

  • to provide opportunity for career exploration through exposure to a variety of career areas
  • to educate students about educational requirements for various careers
  • to assist students in career decision making
  • to encourage post-secondary planning and goal setting

The fall College & Career Fair pairs the DACAC College Fair with the NCEC Career Fair providing juniors and seniors an opportunity to visit with college admissions staff from educational institutions around the region, learn from professionals working in a variety of industries, and visit a college campus all at the same time.

The date is set by the DACAC College Fair schedule and is held at Dakota College at Bottineau.

The spring middle school career fair is focused on careers in STEM and offers hands-on activities to students ranging from grades 7-10. (Specific grades are targeted each year depending on the presentations scheduled.)

NCEC partners with Dakota College at Bottineau with funding from the ND STEM Network to provide students interactive, engaging activities on site at the DCB campus that will expose them to the variety of careers open to them in the STEM fields.
